Picture 1:
This picture was taken during our very first assignment Line and Shape. This picture shows depth with the doorway, stairs, and the classroom doors displaying foreground, middleground, and background. Each step on the stairs and each brick on the wall are example of repetition in this picture. The glass windows also show repetition. The door frame helps frame the picture because the main aspect of the photo is the stair case. I choose to put this picture in black and white because it helps show more of a contrast between the positive and negative space.
Picture 2:
This second photo was taken from our second class assignment Pattern and Texture. The white wood crossing creates a strong sense of pattern and repetition. At the locations where the pieces of wood cross they create small little boxes that frame one to several leaves. I took this photo up close and at an interesting point of view to capture a different way of looking at your ordinary trellis. I decided to leave this photo in color because there is a good balance between the green and white.
Picture 3:
For this photo I have taken the picture out of the motion assignment. To capture this photo I had to use a specific shutter speed. I took this photo up close to the leaves in order to create a sense of depth. I really like how I was able to capture all of the leaves in midair with some if focus and some blurred.
Picture 4:
This picture was taken during The Painting with Lines assignment. For this photos a shutter speed of 10 seconds was used. This photo has many artistic qualities.
Picture 5:
This fifth photo was taken during the Depth of Field and Aperture assignment. The f stop on this photo was a 4.2. The picture focuses on the clown toy and blurs everything else around it. In order to create this effect the camera was manually focused on the toy. I left this photo in color because I liked the way the color of the cards complimented the color of the toy.
Picture 6:
This sixth and final photo was taken on my trip to Puerto Rico. I used this photo in the landscape and seascape assignment. This picture captures a great sense of foreground, middleground, and background. I never even considered putting this photo in black and white due to the fact that all of the natural colors are beautiful. This photo also contains the rule of thirds. The land, building and ocean are almost equally spaced.
